Any successful business owner, entrepreneur or leader will tell you sharing useful and interesting stories can be powerful in building a positive reputation and solid credibility. As such, to be competitive in the business world, you now need to become savvier in telling and sharing your story.
The media landscape has changed significantly and is now competing against social media with 140 character tweets and images that disappear seconds after they are opened. With the number of traditional media and social media platforms at hand, it is very easy to share your stories with your audience. You just need to own your narrative and share it widely.

Everybody has a unique story that is waiting to be told. You may think that you have no stories to tell – that your life is average, and that you’re not interesting – you are wrong.
In fact, your personal story is one of your entrepreneurial strengths. The most powerful entrepreneur stories are about passion and transformation – which is something that everyone can relate to.
One way or another, the more your stories resonate with others, the more likely your stories will be remembered and shared.
Your entrepreneurial story
Everyone, journalists included, loves to hear about the entrepreneur’s story.
It is what most would call as the “Hero’s Journey”. First, you are called to adventure. Then you meet challenges and obstacles along the way. Then, through difficulty and hardships, there is the triumph, where you find victory, and what you were looking for.
And finally, you “return.” That may not mean going back to your hometown: instead, it means building your success, sharing your stories with others, or starting another adventure.
Start telling your story
This storytelling model is a key element of entrepreneurial success. It can be applied in any context to give a strong narrative to your leadership, and provide a lens that can attract interest and build your reputation.
