Last month marked the two year anniversary of Social Media Women. I believe that milestones are a good time to stop and reflect on achievements and challenges.
It was just over two years ago that I started thinking about the idea that women needed a community to explore social media, to come together, network and ask questions. Where no question “was a stupid question” and we could all grow and learn how to use social media.
Most importantly, develop a space where we listen to women talk about social media. At Social Media Women, the expert on stage was always a woman.
I’m so proud and honoured to have developed Social Media Women. I couldn’t have done it without Nancy Georges who has boundless energy and enthusiasm. At times it has been a challenging partnership, yet as co-founders, we had a shared vision. Thanks also to Judith Cantor who has been a key supporter from the very beginning.
It’s time for me to start exploring and creating space for new insight, and to focus on my business and other areas of my life.
I will not be organising anymore Social Media Women monthly events. Nancy has chosen to do a few more sessions independently. The online community will remain the same.
Let’s please stay in touch. Sign up for my monthly newsletter for a round up of social media events and it’s packed with PR and social media tips. Click here to sign up for the newsletter (the form is on the right hand side of the page).
Also let’s connect on social media (if we haven’t already).
